Letting go of the demon's hand - Poetry

Letting go of the demon's hand

Poetry and other words from my journeys to and from the light

Let go of the demon's hand

You reached out in the darkness

Alone, afraid and ashamed.

What grabbed your wrist,

Burned and chafed.

You thought that you weren't alone

But you were.

What grabbed you wrist,

Tormented and taunted.

You thought you weren't afraid

But you were.

What grabbed you wrist,

Hurt and wounded.

You thought you weren't ashamed.

But you were.

What grabbed your wrist,

Raped and abused.

You thought you weren't a prisoner.

But you were.

You reached out in the darkness,

Hoping for an angel

Let go of the demon's hand!
