    Lets be like reeds

    Ripped from the river bed

    to sing of love.

     

    Lets be like reeds

    Hollowed out

    for love's breath

     

    Lets be like reeds

    simple and unadorned

    sharing our longing

     

    Lets be like reeds,

    in the beloved's hands

    improving the silence.
