Longing for your return

 

The day after you left

I ironed my scarf,

elegant creases have become

dishevelled wrinkles

And all I have

is this longing for your return.

 

The day after you left

I approached my mirror,

Side longs glances have become

forlorn stares

And all I have

is this longing for your return.

 

The day after you left

I removed my ornaments,

Sparkling gems

have become dull rocks

And all I have

Is this longing for your return.

 

The day after you left

I called your name,

Delighted whispers have become

Wails of despair

And all I have

Is this longing for your return.

 

 

The night after you left

I slept awhile

Priceless dreams

have become worthless life

And all I have

Is this longing for your return.
