  1. Tears before the Grey wolf

    The crown of your father

    didn’t protect you.

    Now here you are,

    weeping before the Grey wolf.

    The cloak of your mother

    didn’t comfort you.

    Now here you are,

    weeping before the Grey wolf.

    Your unfounded arrogance

    didn’t guard you.

    Now here you are,

    weeping before the Grey wolf.

    Your baseless pride

    Didn’t shield you.

    Now here you are,

    Weeping before the Grey wolf.

    The universe is

    All around you.

    Now here you are

    Weeping before the Grey wolf.

    The ancestors

    Would hold you

    So here you are

    Weeping before the Grey wolf.

    Those who’ve gone before

    Would comfort you

    So here you are

    Weeping before the Grey wolf.

    The cold freezes

    Who will you reach for?

    The rain is falling

    The water soaks

    Who will you reach for?

    The fires won’t start

    The wood is wet

    Who will you reach for?

    Life is fading

    Death hovers near

    Who will you reach for?

    The year is ending

    We’re far from the sun

    Who will you reach for?

    Tears freeze on cheeks

    Loneliness saps

    Who will you reach for?
