   I smelled the fragrant oasis that surrounds you.

    

   I smiled when

   deafened by screams of hopelessness

   I heard the silence of your name.

    

   I smiled when

   Scared by thought of death

   I felt the eternity of your presence.

   And you, and you

    

   Smiled when

   You saw the seed you had planted.

   Being to sprout.

   The last lonely bee

    

   Am I the last bee of winter or the first of spring?

   So far I’ve travelled in the shadows and the night

   Flowers I’ve wished for scattered on the ground.

   Blooms I long for hidden in buds.

    

   Am I the last bee of winter or the first of spring?

   So far I’ve travelled in the cold and gloom,

   Scents I’ve smelled wafting like memories

   Perfumes I yearn for locked in hope.

    

   Am I the last bee of winter or the first of spring?

   So far I’ve travelled in loneliness and fear,

   Vines I’ve longed for withered on the tree.

   Lianas I ache for trapped in earth.

    

   Am I the last bee of winter or the first of spring?

   Lovers I look for lost in my dreams.
