    We’re all immigrants in this place,

    Wondering if the life we’ve chosen

    is better

    Than the existence we left behind.

     

    We’re all immigrants in this place,

    Praying the future we imagined

    Is better

    Than the past we try to remember.

     

    We’re all immigrants in this place,

    Hoping our return home,

    Is better

    Than the journey here.

     

    We’re all immigrants in this place,

    Believing starting anew

    Is better

    Than incessant oblivion.

    If your dreams are fluttering in the wind,

    Which one will you save?

    The one that makes you a king or

    the one that beggars you?

     

    If your dreams are flickering in the light,

    Which one will you save?

    The one that heartens you or

    The one that causes you to fade?

     

    If your dreams are drifting in a stream,

    Which one will you save?

    The one that causes you to fly high or

    The one that ties you to the ground?

     

    If your dreams are on fire,

    Which one will you save?

    The one that frees you to love or

    The one that locks you in loneliness
